Transforming a 1,600 sqm basement completely devoid of natural light into an environment that would draw employees back into the office was, in itself, a statement of intent. For the headquarters of Hashdex, Latin America’s largest crypto asset manager, LD Studio developed a dynamic artificial lighting project that replaced the absence of windows with a carefully planned spectral composition tailored to each zone of the space. A multidisciplinary team worked on vertical illuminance and color temperature to create functionally distinct environments within an underground space, turning an architectural constraint into identity. The project demonstrates what LD Studio has stood for over the past 30 years: artificial light, when designed with rigor and intention, doesn’t compensate for the absence of natural light, it creates its own irreplaceable experience.
