Descritivo

Spread across four floors in Ipanema and dedicated to the rock music of the 1960s through the 1980s, Flashback Bar called for lighting that would become part of the experience itself. LD Studio approached the project with a theatrical sensibility, specifying a track-mounted system with directional spotlights similar to those used in stage lighting to highlight the memorabilia and decorative pieces collected by the owners over the years.

The project’s most distinctive feature was a series of custom luminaires designed specifically for a display of 156 rare vinyl album covers. Solid acrylic rods fitted with dimmable LED modules at their base projected light through their precision-machined tips, creating a contemporary reinterpretation of candlelight. LEDs, halogen fixtures, and vintage Edison carbon-filament lamps coexist throughout the space, perfectly expressing the retro-meets-technology concept that defines the bar’s identity.
