Descritivo

Housed in a meticulously restored 19th-century Neoclassical mansion in Botafogo, Casa Daros was entirely dedicated to Latin American art and required a lighting design worthy of its collection of more than 1,100 works. The project was developed in collaboration with the Swiss lighting design firm Mati Lichtgestaltung, an uncommon international partnership that produced a richer and more nuanced result than either studio could have achieved independently.

Within the galleries, LD Studio and Hanspeter Keller embraced the classic white cube approach. Uniformly illuminated walls, achieved through linear wall washers, were complemented by concentric lighting tracks equipped with dimmable LED spotlights, providing the flexibility needed to accommodate artworks across a wide range of media and formats. A consistent 4000K color temperature was deliberately specified throughout the exhibition spaces, offering a balanced light that renders both warm and cool tones with equal fidelity, ensuring every work of art is presented with the same level of care and respect.
