Los Moliños Shopping Center

The Los Molinos shopping center, built on the hill once occupied by the old Vicuña textile factory in Medellín, was conceived with generously scaled architecture, high ceilings, and a theme inspired by Colombian nature. LD Studio’s first international partnership with Designcorp, the project was also an opportunity to affirm the firm’s ability to operate in different cultural contexts with the same precision. The lighting interpreted the spaces without imposing itself on them, balancing subtlety and drama in settings that called for both at once. The transcontinental collaboration made clear that LD Studio’s view of light as language goes beyond any geographic border.
