Descritivo

Designed by the New York–based architecture firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Índio da Costa, the new Museum of Image and Sound (MIS Rio) in Copacabana was conceived as a vibrant cultural landmark along Rio de Janeiro’s waterfront. For LD Studio, designing its lighting meant contributing to the next chapter of this remarkable institution.

Light accompanies visitors from the very first approach, guiding their journey along the museum’s ramps and stairways to the rooftop, making the building more accessible while strengthening its connection to the city. At the top of the eight-story structure, sweeping views of Copacabana are complemented by an open-air cinema, where the lighting creates an atmosphere that brings together architecture, culture, and the open sky.
